A DoFollow link is a link which passes on “link juice” to the website it’s linking to, which is essentially a vote or point to the linking site. The alternative is a NoFollow link, which passes no link juice and does not help you rank. Don’t forget to tell Google your site is mobile-proof. You can add a viewport declaration – if you’re using responsive design – or a Vary header when using dynamic serving. It’s important to make sure that the site you’d like a link from has a a number of DoFollow links from authoritative sites. Authoritative sites are typically well known within their niche and have a large audience and backlink profile as well, they can also be large news websites. If the website you’re targeting has a lot of links from authoritative sites, then it’s a good sign. Relevance is the key issue when choosing the right
keywords. Keep in mind that the more specific and niche
the keywords, the better.
Make that list bigger!
You can’t master SEO in a day, but you can resolve to make small steps in each of the areas of SEO that will make your site better and your efforts more impactful. Although bounce rate is
hard to measure you should definitely monitor the trend of your bounce rate and the differences in bounce rate between your pages. If a specific page has a very high bounce rate, you should try to figure out what’s the cause. You could add links to other useful pages or call to actions to keep people on your site. As content marketing evolves, it is more beneficial to go beyond the written posts to new formats that allow you to broaden your value. Search engines display page titles in their search results. In addition, search engines use page titles in order to recognize what information the website contains.
Bad SEO is not always about a direct violation of search engine rules
For Search Engines, backlinks help to determine the page’s importance and value (i.e. authority). Historically, the quantity of backlinks was an indicator of a page’s popularity. Make sure you add
responsive mobile URLs to your sitemap. Mobile friendly pages tend to rank higher for mobile search results, therefore inform the Search Engines which pages on your website is mobile friendly. Now, keyword stuffing or having specific phrases on the site is not enough to get your site ranked on the popular search engines. And, it’s also of no use to get links from irrelevant sites. Unsurprisingly, larger companies tend to outspend smaller firms when it comes to SEO.
Why would Google believe that this is the best page on the internet for this topic?
You can use some practical tools that’ll make it much easier to find keywords. You will still have to make a short list yourself (no corners to cut there), but once you have ten to twenty proper keywords, you can use several tools to find similar keywords. Using these tools will significantly speed up the process of coming up with long lists of keywords. Content curation is a common way to collect, restructure, and
republish existing content. The collection of material often
provides new perspectives for users on content ideas you’ve
already covered. For content curation to be successful, you
first look for appropriate sources and then use your own blog
to purposefully publish the content. Personal social media
channels also help spread content easily. Popular topics
often provide a lot of traffic. To keep search engines from ignoring your site, only use original content. Copying and pasting product descriptions from your merchant’s site may save you time, but it will also lower your site’s page ranking. To assure your page rank remains high, take the time to write your own content. If you don’t have time to write, hire a copywriter to create original content for you. We asked an SEO Specialist
, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "The Internet a crowded and noisy place, so when you search for something online, you’re going to get a barrage of search results. Thousands of them. Hundreds of thousands. No one would click through on each of them. Most web users will click on the first couple results that are listed, and then modify their search if they don’t see what they want."
Make your keywords as specific as possible
There are as many ways to build links as there are types of website. Thanks to Google’s crack-down on creating spam links, many old tactics no longer work. Now much of link-building is good old-fashioned marketing – promotion and PR. The initial purpose of
search engines counting the quantity and quality
of links linking back to any webpage was to ensure that only those pages
providing valuable and trustworthy content to their users would be ranked
higher than less credible resources in search results pages. The SEO benefits of social media, in my opinion, should be seen as the by-product of a strong social media strategy, not the core objective. In turn, SEO’s need to understand the wider role social media plays in connecting with an audience at each stage of the buying journey. Long tail keywords might not have the popularity or perceived importance of regular keywords but they can be very effective when utilised correctly. Using long tail keywords can give you the edge over your competitors and there are numerous benefits to using them. Keep in mind you will rank faster for long tail keywords and these often result in higher conversions.
