Vertical search is the term people sometimes use for specialty or niche search engines that focus on a limited data set. Examples of vertical search solutions provided by the major search engines are image, video, news, and blog searches. Ever wonder how to pick the perfect keyword topic for your blog or website, or find one that will have the most value? Most SEO strategists and content creators focus on, at best, two of the eight dimensions they should analyze when creating a keyword strategy for a website. Much like other SEO strategies, keyword research has evolved to a level that goes well beyond “how many people are searching for a topic.” It now includes many more variables that help define how much value a topic will bring to a website. Writing blog content is one of the best ways to generate traffic and inbound links to your site. Marketers who blog consistently see up to 97% more organic links generated for their site. Guest blogging greatly contributes to that number if you’ve made that part of your content marketing strategy. Nofollow does not mean that the search engine bot will not follow the link at all but, it only means that the search engine bot will not pass value / link juice which normally would have passed for the given link.

A well-optimized Google My Business listing will form the cornerstone of your local SEO efforts

Longer search phrases are the natural progression of the Internet population boom. As more and more information is placed online, it becomes increasingly difficult to find exactly what you're looking for. Build your site with a logical link structure. Every page should be reachable from at least one static text link. Backlinks are absolutely key to boosting your site’s position in search engines, moving you from page 50 to page 5, from page 5 to page 1. But why? Well, according to most search engines, a site that is being talked about and recommended a lot online must be doing so for good reason. Thin content tells a search engine that your sitepage doesn’t have much to offer. As a result, those sitepages are ranked poorly in the search results. Sparse content is mostly characterized by a poor content (text) to code ratio. The common rule of thumb dictates that the amount of text on a website should not be less than 25 percent.

Building a Content Marketing Plan

As you create content for your website, link to other pages on your site within your content. Use anchor text that uses the page’s target keywords or phrases that explain what the page is about. SEO is a great way to put your hands up in the air and tell potential customers that your business exists and has a web presence among the thousands of competing pages and the competitor businesses behind them. For larger websites, especially those within e-commerce leanings, there are huge SEO wins to be had with snippet optimization. Don’t duplicate title tags across your website, as this can negatively impact your visibility

Earning links to establish power

There are many other items which can affect a website’s search ranking, including all of the following: keyword research and implementation, back links, link building, content, directory submission, competitor analysis, optimization both on and off of the website in question, and still more variables. While analysing the site for more signs of a negative SEO attack, it’s a good idea to see whether the backlink analyser notices a surge of spammy URLs that point back to your site. It might be a few pages, put those pages can be filled with dangerous URLs. Even if the social search playing field hasn’t been completely defined yet, one of the key takeaways from the early actions of Google, Bing, and Facebook is that as marketers, we need to start seeing our search engine optimization strategy and our social media strategy as utterly intertwined. We asked an SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "Imagine for a moment, a yacht. The on-page elements represent the sails and the ropes above water. Now imagine the technical elements of SEO are everything below the water line: the hull and the cabin. So you could have your sails blowing, and your knots tied correctly, but if there’s a hole in the bottom of your boat you’re not going to get very far."

Think of ways to stand out from the crowd

The intent of web users searching on their mobile devices will be different from the intent of those searching the web on their desktop. The same SERP principle applies. Most mobile web browsers are looking for something fast, such as where to get something, directions to a place, how to fix something or how to get a hold of someone. Google’s SERPs for them will be different from someone searching the web on their desktop. Google normally takes into account bounce rate and the time spent on a site as ranking factors. If visitors are bouncing away due to navigation confusion and poor content structure, you can be sure that the search bots are too. Search engine algorithms will surely crawl video content directly instead of just crawling the text based content surrounding the video. This will gradually phase out the effectiveness of using “clickbait” to draw more attention to the video. My suggestion would be not to shoot press releases in all directions for the sole purpose of building links. Be very genuine of the purpose of writing your press release.
