SEOs have tried many ways to sneak in links. One of the more creative ways was to embed a link into an infographic. When people would copy the infographic because they liked it, they were also copying links. Widgets were also used this way. No one appreciates them. A title tag is used by search engines to display a page in search results and can also be found at the top of your browser. Title tags tell search engines and searchers what the page is about. By sharing content that you post on social media as well as sharing your website content people are showing that your website is a valuable resource that they are happy to tell their friends about. Another effect of this is that people are more likely to link to your content and website if they have been introduced to it on social media. Pagerank retention is a myth – it’s not possible for your site to ‘leak’ link juice by having more external than internal links

Drive traffic to a particular page of your website

Google collects user data on your site and makes further ranking decisions to determine where your content pages should be ranked in the organic results of search engines. A clear, direct URL is the best route to take in order to ensure that users know what they’re getting from your website and are prepared to click on it. In many cases, this can also help your ranking as an added bonus. It can take months to see a real impact from SEO, and if your site is fairly new (ie. you just launched and have little to no content), it will take even longer to see noticeable results. Search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo use complex, evolving algorithms to call forth relevant results for search queries. And with trillions of web pages online, there’s a lot of competition. That said, there are a number of fundamental things you can do to make each page of your website more appealing to search engines.

Don’t give up too soon

SEO-friendly content doesn’t have to be difficult or time-consuming, provided that you understand how on-page SEO can work alongside your content. Trends adjusts search data to make comparisons between terms easier. Each data point is divided by the total searches of the geography and time range it represents, to compare relative popularity. When creating new content ask yourself: what the goal of that content is? What information do you need to include? Who is your target audience? What language do they use? What questions your visitors looking to answer? By taking a moment to think about real humans and your target audience you’ll be able to create content that will not only rank well in the search engines but lead to better engagement with your website visitors. Contrary to popular belief, linking out to relevant external websites does not directly impact your search rankings.
